Just friend

I'm too busy to write to my penpal. What should I do ?

Sometimes you may be so busy with your business or school work that you don't have any time to write your penpal.

You don't have to write to him/her hurriedly in this case. When you are busy, it's more difficult to catch up with good ideas for letters than usual. Or you might end up writing nonsences in a hurry and ruin your friendship, as I actually did once. Sometimes your penpal writes you that he/she is waiting for your mail. Then just answer, "I'm sorry but I'm too busy to write to you now. I'll write again in a month." Or you can write short sentences in a postcard, if your pal is a snail mail pal.

But when you write to your penpal after your work is done, explain why you couldn't write to your penpal a long time.

I want to send a present to my pen pal. Are there any tips about doing this ?

It's a nice idea to exchange presents with your pen pal, expecially when you have a snail mail pal. But a present sent out of time can be annoying. Let me show how to give a present that pleases your pen pal.

If you write snail mails, your own picture is a good present. You can enclose it even with your first letter. Or if you have e-mail pals, you can attach a picture of yourself, unless the size is not too big.

Generally, the presents that always make your pen pal happy are pictures, postcards, small stationery, stamps, friendship books (if you don't know what friendship books are, go to another page of mine Tips for swapping FBs.) ,and music casettes.

Some people might send you an expensive present without previous notice as soon as you make friends with them. They usually say, "Here's something for you. I want to congratulate you on being my pen pal." But this is not a good idea. In fact, this is very embarrassing. You would be surprised and feel the responsibility to send something in return, even the senders don't expect it.

You can give a big presents on your pen pal's birthday. Rather, it really pleases your pen pal. If you can't afford any present, a birthday card will promote your friendship.

Good friends don't need a lot of presents to keep friends with each other.Let me take an example. My best pen pal and I seldom exchange any big presents. But we are on very good terms because we've never run out of things to talk about. Such friends are more precious than those tied with only presents.
